Day 9&10&11: Bucket List, Daily Routine, Last Book You Read

As I promised, today I'm going to be doing another double challenge post where I post 2 days into one because I'm lazy like that. xD

By the way, today is my birthday. :) But I've never thought of birthdays as anything special. I just use it as an excuse to buy things for myself. xD

What's on your Bucket List?
First of all, there are some basic things that I don't know how to do:
  • learn how to swim
  • learn how to ride a bike
Now here are some more things:
  • learn how to play anime songs on the piano
  • learn how to play the violin (at least the basics)
  • actually get decent at playing chess
  •  play Go on an worldwide server (right now I suck really bad so I'm scared to play on a server but one day, one day.)
  • get famous on a social media site (somewhat)
  • write a book
  • create my own manga
  • start a booktube channel
  • go to a con
  • etc...
Yeah, as you can tell, I'm pretty boring. xD These things on my list are probably too far-fetched but I would still like to achieve as many of them as I can.

Daily Routine
There's nothing really special about my mornings. I just wake up, linger in my bed for a little while and then go to eat breakfast. If it's a school day, I brush my teeth after and wash my face (applying facial lotion and acne medicine and the like). I get dressed and then go.
Pretty simple.

But this summer, I'm pretty much like; wake up, look at ipad mini and stay in my bed for an hour, get up and go downstairs to eat breakfast. I've gotten much, much lazier throughout my years.

Last Book You Read
Since I didn't type much for the two other questions, I decided to cram Day 11 into this post. Yay!
You might already know what the last book I read was, if you saw my review post on Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. Yes, E&P is the last book I read. Which is sad, because I said I would be doing a weekly reads (two posts down from this one) and I haven't even started on any of the books I said I would be reading this week.

That was relatively short and plain post. xD
I hope you all have a fantastic day!~

Day 7&8: Dream Job and Biggest Pet Peeve!

Whoa, it's been a long 4 days since I've posted something on my blog! Well, I have a reason and it's because of stupid Math Anal. Yup, you read that. Because Math Analysis is a pain. In the rectum. Also, my birthday is on Sunday, June 29 so I went shopping today (didn't really get that much stuff, oh well) and I'm pretty hyped to just spend a few hours on my back porch reading books, listening to music, and eating cheesecake. Sounds like heaven to me.

Anyway, instead of making one huge post of 4 days worth my blog challenge, I decided to split it up into two. So I'm going to talk about my Dream Job and Biggest Pet Peeve here. :)

Dream Job? & Plans of the Future
Honestly, it kind of scares me to think of the future. I'm still in highschool, going on to my sophomore year at that; and although that's not a excuse to not have any plans for the future, I have ABSOLUTELY no clue what I want to do. I feel like I'm stuck in Limbo or something...I just can't reach a compromise. It sucks because I DO know that my future career is probably going to have nothing to do with my current hobbies and what I'm interested in, aka tennis, kungfu, drawing, anime, books are a few things I'm interested in. You can't exactly make a decent living off of that. That's why I'm struggling so hard with my dreams. What are my dreams even? I don't know...I guess I would like to at least get a little famous at what I do (whether it's art or blogging or tennis or whatever.) I think everyone wants a little fame. xD With all the social media fad going on, and more and more people getting famous through the internet, other people are starting to follow in their footsteps, albeit it's harder to get noticed now.

Sorry, I'm just rambling. The only times when thoughts about my future/career cross my mind are when my parents mention it. I rather not think about it because it just jumbles my brain and I feel stressed. Which is funny because I still have 3 more years until I have to go to college but it feels like I'm quickly running out of time. There's some truth in that, I guess, 3 years does pass by quickly. I still feel like the day I entered middle school was just right around the corner.

My parents brought up the topic of getting a job in the medical field more often recently. I laughed because I thought it was rather typical because my family's Chinese, and there's a stereotype that Chinese kids aim to be a doctor, lawyer, scientist, or other professional, high-paying jobs. I never really wanted to be a doctor; apparently in my head, doctors meant surgeons. I don't know but didn't we all go through that phase as a kid?
They were talking about how being a child doctor would be good since I didn't have deal with surgeries or the stress that general doctors had to deal with. I would just do a check-up on the child, who would probably come in with a cold or a fever or something not-so-serious. Obviously, that job sounds too easy to be true, so I can only assume there's a downside to it but being a child doctor didn't sound so bad. It's not a job I would originally think of doing but it's pretty darn good. Good pay, and good environment. Who doesn't want to see children every day? I would get to meet lots of different kids and that's awesome.

So yeah, I guess my plans for after high school is college/university, and medical school. I'm not so passionate about medical science but I guess it's okay. I know, I know, I'm going to be in a dangerous position if I'm aiming to be a child doctor and I don't even have passion for it. I'm pretty sure I'll gain the passion throughout high school for it.

Plus, judging from what I've seen in the short time I've been on Earth, people don't work jobs because they like them; it's because it's what gives them the money to put food on the table.

Biggest Pet Peeve?
Something that really gets to me is when people misunderstand or just assume something without evidence. Especially about me. I really (emphasis on really) don't like it when people get the wrong idea about me. I know this because I've flipped out a few times in the past when these things happened.
I think it all started when I was in first or second grade, when I thought I was best friends with this older girl. We hung out at this afterschool program (for kids in elementary school that had late-working parents). There was a girl my age also in the program that I didn't like that much, mostly for a stupid reason and that was because everyone loved her and thought she was the cutest thing on earth. I was jealous, plain and simple.

So I did the natural thing with my 'best friend'. We talked behind the popular girl's back.

But then she betrayed me. dunDUNDUNNNNN ahaha just kidding; I'm only around 6-7 years old around this time so it's not serious but still. I had my feelings hurt.

My so-called 'best friend' stopped talking to me one day to talk to the popular girl and made it clear that she was gossiping about me to her. I realized that the whole time, she was friends with the popular girl and only teasing me. Making fun of me. Taking advantage of my feelings to mock me.

So I guess that kind of triggered my trust issue. But that's why I hated people misunderstanding me. Maybe you don't see the connection but that was the first time that other people knew my hatred for the popular girl, and I got bullied as a result. Okay, so maybe it wasn't a misunderstanding and I really did not like her but I tried to redeem myself and gain back the respect from my peers. It...didn't work out. I transferred in third grade but not specifically to get away from them. I was just accepted into a talented and gifted youth school (hell yeah, suckas.)

I also have two more stories but that would make this post really long. If you happen to be curious, I don't mind telling it. Maybe I'll tell it in a future post of mine.

Okay, well, it's nighttime now so I don't think I'll get to the Day 9&10 today but I will definitely get to it tomorrow!
Have a great day and Happy Birthday to whoever's birthday is today! :)

Also happy early burfdai to myself :3

Weekly Reads!-A new thing?

Since I'm on summer break right now and I have lots of free time on my hands...what a better time to start reading and being productive, right?
I don't actually know if this is a thing out there on booktube or on other book blogs or whatever but I have decided to do this "challenge" of sorts to see if I can get some reading done this summer! I call it "Weekly Reads" and at the beginning of each new week, I make a post about the books that I plan to read (and complete) that week. Now I'm relatively sure someone else has done it because it doesn't seem too original but I'm just saying that so I don't get pointed at for saying that I came up with it first. xD Weekly Reads kind of sounds like a "Summer Reading Plans (if you've been on booktube)", except weekly.

So now, without further ado, I present to you, the books I plan on reading for this week; starting today, June 24 through next Tuesday, July 1st!

The Fault in Our Stars (shortened "TFIOS") by John Green

I know, I know, you can't possibly believe that I haven't read this book, can you? Well, there's a reason that I haven't gotten to this book yet. One, I've been putting this book off for other books, and I'm sad to admit that. Two, I've mentioned in one of my previous posts before that I was in a very long book slump where I didn't read books at all (except my required reading) so I didn't really get in on the hype of the rising popularity of this book. Of course, I had heard of it a loong while ago but I never imagined that I would read it. But now, here I am with a purchased, paperback copy of The Fault in Our Stars and I think I'm going to enjoy this book, and as well, cry ugly tears like I've heard everybody has.

Legend by Marie Lu

The Legend trilogy has gotten as much hype as The Hunger Games trilogy or the Divergent trilogy and again, a lot of people might be surprised as to why I haven't read this trilogy yet but no fear, I have the boxset in my hands now and I'm planning to marathon it. One of the things that I find unique about this trilogy is that it's written by an Asian author and it's gotten pretty famous. There's Jenny Han and Julie Kagawa of course but I don't know, I was pretty surprised (there needs to be more diversity in YA literature! Of course there IS diversity, but just not the right authors be recognized.)

Apparently it's supposed to have a similar feel to the mentioned trilogies above, and discusses the government and politics (maybe?) and I think there's a rebellion of some sorts similar to The Hunger Games. Excited to read this!

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer

If you've seen my first BookOutlet Haul, you would recognize this book here. I've decided to read this this week because I'm a little wary about this trilogy (and I want to know if I'll like it ASAP...so if I don't, I can sell it.) It has an interesting premise for sure but I feel like it's the execution that will make me not want to buy the rest of the trilogy. Like, I will probably like it enough to read the whole trilogy but just not buy it. You feel me? Like, not Ready Player One level. But then again, there isn't a book that is on Ready Player One's level in terms of fun and entertainment. I hope I'm wrong though. But my wallet does need a rest so I don't know if I'll be buying the second and third books in this trilogy.

Well that was it! If I do really good with reading this week, I'll probably get to reading my summer assignment books (which I should read first anyway but you know me; YA addict.)

Today is a good day to have a good day.~ <3

Day 6-Your Last Random Act of Kindness

Hello! Welcome to Day 6 of my 31 Day Blog Challenge! Today, I'm going to be talking about my last random act of kindness.
Well.
That's hard to think about.
My last random act of kindness was probablyyyy...a few days ago when I complimented someone? I don't actually remember when I compliment people so...
I don't know. I've been in my house chillin' for the last couple of days so not really seeing people other than my family much. And with my family, there's no such thing as random acts of kindness. Not saying that in a bad way though. We're comfortable with each other to the point that "kindness" is kind of dull-sounding...and to me anyway, that noun is what you would associate with someone you're not that familiar with or a stranger.

Sorry that this is a pretty boring post but I couldn't come up with anything else to share.

Well, I read outside (partially in the sun) for a couple of hours. It was nice and relaxing, and now I'm in a pleasant mood. ^///^

Be sure to spread kindness around (even if I'm not doing such a good job at it...).

Today is a good day to have a good day~ :)

Haikyuu!! Review: Episode 12

I don't know if this is necessary but I'll put it here just in case:
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the subtitles or the anime streaming site in the images below. I just took the screenshots.

Hello you beautiful person! How was your day? I hope it was great. :)

Today I'm going to be reviewing the 12th episode of a volleyball anime series named Haikyuu!! Check it out because it's great and wonderful and full of adorable characters! I also recommend reading the manga.

Haikyuu!! episode 12

Karasuno meets Nekoma

The episode starts off with a little backstory between the two coach rivals--Nekoma and Ukai--and how the two school rivalries ended sadly.
The players of Nekoma and Karasuno meet each other, blah blah blah, and it's quite funny how you can see equivalents of each Karasuno player on the other team. Except maybe Tsukishima...
The match begins and immediately Karasuno dominates Nekoma with Kageyama-Hinata's speed spike. Things begin to go smoothly--a little too smoothly perhaps and then we notice a keen little eye here:

Cute but too perceptive Kenma

This is where Nekoma shows why they are so fearsome. I liked the concept of the team. The players were like blood veins--flowing smoothly and allowing the mind (Kenma) to function. In other words, the team is composed of solid receivers that support Kenma and allows him to do his job as a setter well.
Kenma notices that Hinata tends to aim for the same spots so he suggests that Inouka Sou, one of their fastest, if not fastest blockers, to keep Hinata's fast spikes at bay.
Hinata's shutdown continues pretty much the rest of the episode until the last few minutes.
There was also a tiny backstory for Kenma. Crammed into a few minutes, Kenma was shown to originally have black hair (obviously, if you look at his roots) but along the way it seemed he decided to dye his hair for unknown reasons. But as a kid, he was shy and quiet, almost wanted to be invisible and not get in anyone's way. The only friend he had was a neighbor, Kuroo Tetsuo, now the captain of Nekoma, who dragged him into playing volleyball. **Side note:A lottt of people ship them...I think they're cute.;3 **
Anyway, Kenma has made it clear several times that he doesn't particularly enjoy volleyball although I say otherwise.
Not-so-obvious foreshadowing
Back to Hinata being shut-down by Inuoka; he changes things up by actually opening his eyes when he spikes the ball but has trouble making contact. I was about to say, "Hinata, you're adorable, not overpowered. You can't keep spiking like that even it does work a few times."
I was really happy to see that even though he was upset at being shut-down at first, he eventually felt not discouraged, but excited for the competition.

Hinata's excited smile
It's nice to see him get more confident. ^^
Compared to before, he looked so defeated and at a lost at what to do when Tsukishima shut him down at the freshman match.

We learn a little more about the Little Giant this episode from Coach Ukai.
Apparently he remembers everything his grandpa tells him perfectly. Huh.

My Favorite Quote from this Episode

"Because people don't have wings...we look for ways to fly."

And then Hinata finally comes up with something! He hits the ball with his hand at odd angle, resulting the ball to curve drastically (or maybe that's just the animation lol.) This was such an intense and heart-racing moment.

His ball was slightly out but DANNGG that was hella cool. YOU GO HINATA YOU GO.
The episode then ends with him asking to try it out one more time.
Ugh, this was such a GOOD episode! Any Haikyuu!! episode is really good honestly.

So, that was my review of Haikyuu!! episode 12. :) I hope you enjoyed reading this and also enjoyed the episode ahaha. See ya!

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell | Book Review & Discussion

Warning: Long post, long review. I've bolded a few words to help anyway looking through my review to sort through it.
Image from Barnes and Nobles site
I finished this book last night. And OH MY JOLLY GOSH I loved it to pieces. I can't say the ending was what I wanted but you know what, this is Rainbow Rowell and she's giving a story to us how it is.

What is this book about? Well, I'll gladly tell you. Set in the late 1980s, the two main characters of this romantic story are Eleanor, a "fat" girl with big, curly red hair and Park, a half-Korean American boy. Both of them are considered "misfits" in their school; Park gets along with the popular crowd but doesn't talk very much while Eleanor just plainly stands out due to her fashion and hair. These two teens wind up sitting next to each on the school bus and even more unexpected, falling in love with each other. Their romance slowly builds up until it reaches the summit andddd pretty much everything blows up and it's pretty intense. You thought this was going to be a sweet, romantic story? At parts, yes, it's adorable but each character has their own troubles to deal with and their conflicts are why it is a struggle to keep this couple together. I wouldn't exactly say it's a Romeo and Juliet story (because frankly, that would be disappointing if it went that route) but there are characters in this story; antagonists to be more specific that make their relationship...forbidden.

But that's enough of me talking! Whew, I almost spoiled ya there! Now, GO READ THE BOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T YET. It's so good. And after reading this, I want to read so MANY MORE books! That's what Rainbow Rowell's writing does to you! WOW.

**SPOILERS BELOW. BEWARE**

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Story Analysis/Discussion (also combined with characters):
Now I'm no professional critic but I really wanted to talk about the story. Because it's freaking good.
Let's start with the beginning. Eleanor is a new student and she is immediately judged and bullied by other students, mainly on the bus and at gym, as described by Eleanor. The main bullies are Tina and her boyfriend Steven, and when he's not around, it's Tina and her friends.
At first, I didn't like both Tina and Steven (I think most people didn't because of their personalities) but then later on in the book, they become pretty alright characters.
Watching the insults happen, Park decides to ignore Eleanor and tries to stay out of the vision of Tina and Steven as much as possible. Of course, his good conscience gets the better of him and he starts to interact with Eleanor, who is sitting beside him on the bus every morning and afternoon (I mean, come on, who wouldn't?)
They two eventually start sharing comic books and music, discovering that they have similar interests and quickly become good friends. Yay! All happy right?
Not for Eleanor at least. Ignoring the bullying at school for a moment, let's go to her home. Or a more fitting name, a shithole household. Excuse my language but that's what I imagine her house to be. xD Especially since her step-father, Richie is the main source of income for her family.
By the way, where does Richie even work anyway? I don't believe the book said anything about it. I know it's not a very high-paying job at the least.

Anyway, Richie=bad. Very bad. He's a douchebag and seems to always be intoxicated. Not too far into the story, Eleanor lets the readers know that he's kicked her out before. It wasn't even for a good reason, in my opinion. Later on in the book, Eleanor comes back to this topic and flashbacks to what happened that day; this incident I like to call, "The Typewriter Incident" that resulted in her being kicked out. Which is total BS I tell ya. I don't even know why her mom allowed it. If my mom allowed that to happen to me, I would never trust her again. In fact, my faith in my mother would be lost if she married a guy like Richie.

Okay, let's talk about Richie's and Eleanor's mom's marriage, shall we? I've wanted to talk about this because if frustrates me to no end. And it frustrates me that there are actually marriages like this out there. In the first place, Eleanor's mom was foolish to date a guy who approached her and hit on her like that. Honestly, I think most of the time, if you're in a random place and someone hits on you, you probably shouldn't trust them. Just saiyan. I don't remember where she was when Richie hit on her (I also don't have the book with me to check omg my laziness i can't-) but pretttty sure it was like on the street or something.
And when Richie was showing the first signs of abuse and alcohol addiction, she should have booked her and her kids outta there. But she didn't, and I finished the book and still don't understand why. Eleanor was guessing that it was because that she was afraid but I feel like that shouldn't be what stops you from doing what you think is what. Is she even thinking about her kids? He isn't even rich so I don't know why she puts up with him. *sigh* I don't know, this is in the '80s; 30 years ago, so no doubt that things were different from now.

Whoops sorry, I'm not talking about the story much, am I? Let's see, I was at the romance part, right? So it was all cute friendship in the beginning but then Eleanor and Park begin to realize that they feel something more for each other and honestly, I thought it was all a little spontaneous; how they suddenly fell in love with each other. But I guess that's pretty true in real life; I've never been in love before but I've seen other people fall pretty easily in love with another person (but usually it's unrequited xD). Their romance, by far, was the BEST thing about this book. Ugh, they are too adorable with each other.

A huge chunk of the book focuses on Park and Eleanor's building relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend, while Eleanor is trying to keep their relationship a secret from her family. Of course, they eventually find out and that becomes the height and climax of the story. Eleanor, throughout the story keeps seeing these dirty and provocative messages written on her school books and for a while thought it was Tina who was doing that but in the end...it was Richie. What? How? What? Why?? I was completely surprised that it was Richie. I didn't even notice that he...ugh, thought that way towards Eleanor. Yeah, we did see her story through her perspective and her fear of him was greater than anything unusual she noticed about him but still...I feel kind of dumb. xD I know that there are many cases of rape happening between step-parents and children, sadly enough, and have read stories about them so I didn't know why I didn't recognize it was going this route.

But yeah, this is also the part where I actually though Tina and Steven were pretty okay. They let Eleanor hide in Steven's garage to escape her step-father because apparently, they all knew what a jerk he was. And even more (not) surprisingly, Tina could relate because she also has a step-father, and according to how Steven was acting, her step-father was probably pretty terrible too. That made me soften my view on them, and made me realize that they are people too and go through their own troubles.

What really broke my heart was when Park was driving Eleanor to her uncle's house to escape Richie. The very first page of this book was foreshadowing their departure from each other and I really, reaaally hoped it wasn't true. But sadly. It is. *commence tears and massive breakdown*

I just can't believe Eleanor didn't send Park anything for a year! He sent them letters and what do you do, girl? You ignore him??? And the only time she does send something to him is the card he sent her like, what, are you too good to write a letter to him, huh? HUHHHHHHH ELEANNOOOOOR?
No xD I'm just kidding but still.
The speculation about the three words on the card I've heard about are either it says, "I love you" or "I am coming" but I hope it's the latter because that means Eleanor is returning and there is still hope for them! :D It also bothered me while the whole time while Park was saying the ILUs, Eleanor was like, "psshh I'm too good to say it back". I'm not hating on her, non non non, I like Eleanor but I'm just frustrated at her actions.

I hope they end up going to prom together. THEY NEED TO. ELEANOR X PARK OTP 6EVER

Some few last bits I want to address are first, the letter that Eleanor wrote to Park in Spanish ("Mi gusta comer su cara.") I wonder if he ever got it. I would have loved for Rainbow to write his reaction to it. xD

Secondly, there needs to be more Beebi and DeNice love! Seriously! Those sistahs were hella dope and got Eleanor's back! #appreciation

Thirdly, Eleanor's siblings...and step-sibling. Was I the only one that was really concerned for them? They were a bit annoying...sometimes, not gonna lie. But to be raised in a broken household like that...will result in broken children.

Hardcovers, hardcovers! -BookOutlet Haul #2

 BookOutlet: http://bookoutlet.com/
My second BookOutlet order came a while ago but nonetheless I am excited to read all of these books! First I have to read my summer assigned books though...(stupid Julie, why are you procrastinating!) Like seriously, I should not be procrastinating them because the 2 books I have to read combined are about 300 pages. 300!! I could read that in my sleep! Well, not really, because I have to annotate them but still...ya get my drift.

Onto the haul....

This is what I see when I first open the box. Squee!! Look at dem books :) (Again thank the brown packaging paper for protecting my books.)

(**DISCLAIMER: All of my summaries are from Goodreads.**)

Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King
Summary: "Is it okay to hate the dead kid? Even if I loved him once? Even if he was my best friend? Is it okay to hate him for being dead?
Vera's spent her whole life secretly in love with her best friend, Charlie Kahn. And over the years she's kept a lot of his secrets. Even after he betrayed her. Even after he ruined everything.
So when Charlie dies in dark circumstances, Vera knows a lot more than anyone-the kids at school, his family, even the police. But will she emerge to clear his name? Does she even want to?

Edgy and gripping, Please Ignore Vera Diets is an unforgettable novel: smart, funny, dramatic, and always surprising."

I honestly just got this book because it was available on BookOutlet (there aren't a lot of good YA contemporary novels on there) and because, of course, it was bargain-priced. I've heard a lot of good things about this book and even more fabulous things about A.S. King. This will be my first book I've ever read by her. I'm pumped! Also, people say it's a pretty humorous book so I'm looking forward to that (it actually seems like it'll break my heart, you know, will the unrequited love thing.)

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Summary: "Amir is the son of a wealthy Kabul merchant, a member of the ruling caste of Pashums. Hassan, his servant and constant companion, is a Hazara, a despised and impoverished caste. Their uncommon bond is torn by Amir's choice to abandon his friend amidst the increasing ethnic, religious, and political tensions of the dying years of the Afghan monarchy, wrenching them far apart. But so strong is the bond between the two boys that Amir journeys back to a distant world, to try to right past wrongs against the only true friend he ever had.

The unforgettable, heartbreaking story of the unlikely friendship between a wealthy boy and the son of his father’s servant, The Kite Runner is a beautifully crafted novel set in a country that is in the process of being destroyed. It is about the power of reading, the price of betrayal, and the possibility of redemption; and an exploration of the power of fathers over sons—their love, their sacrifices, their lies."

I got this book because it sounded really interesting and also, BookOutlet offered the cheapest price for it out of all the sites I visited. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I actually got the collector's edition (on the site it only said hardcover version) so that's a bonus. There was so much rave about this book that I had to pick it up. Knowing me, this story is probably going to make me cry (in good ways...probably.) Hosseini's other 2 books, A Thousand Splendid Suns and And the Mountains Echoed were critically acclaimed as well; And the Mountains Echoed received a Goodreads award as Best Fiction of 2013.
Something pretty I discovered about the naked book is this:
It's a fancy, golden inscription of the author's initials! Pretty cool, right?

Entwined by Heather Dixon
Summary (on goodreads but actually quoted from Publishers Weekly): "Just when Azalea should feel that everything is before her—beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing—it's taken away. All of it. And Azalea is trapped. The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. So he extends an invitation.

Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest, but there is a cost. The Keeper likes to keep things. Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late. "Readers who enjoy stories of royalty, romance, and magic will delight in Dixon's first novel."

I was told it was the retelling of a fairy tale, "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" and I've got to say...I've never heard that one. xD Please tell me I'm not the only one that's never read that.
But anyway, the summary seems pretty interesting but I have to admit that I bought it purely because of the gorgeous cover and the price (it was only 2.99!)
I'm still excited to read it though!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen(Collins Classics)
Summary: "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."

So begins
Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen's witty comedy of manners--one of the most popular novels of all time--that features splendidly civilized sparring between the proud Mr. Darcy and the prejudiced Elizabeth Bennet as they play out their spirited courtship in a series of eighteenth-century drawing-room intrigues."

Awh yeah, Pride and Prejudice baby! I can't believe I've never read a Jane Austen book before (I swore I had!) so when I saw BookOutlet selling this, I knew I had to get it. I had no clue that it was actually a U.K. edition but that isn't a big deal (I feel more stylish now; owning books from different countries.)
I also like that it comes with a little bookmark. :)

Kinslayer by Jay Kristoff
Summary: "A SHATTERED EMPIRE
The mad Shōgun Yoritomo has been assassinated by the Stormdancer Yukiko, and the threat of civil war looms over the Shima Imperium. The Lotus Guild conspires to renew the nation’s broken dynasty and crush the growing rebellion simultaneously – by endorsing a new Shōgun who desires nothing more than to see Yukiko dead.

A DARK LEGACY
Yukiko and the mighty thunder tiger Buruu have been cast in the role of heroes by the Kagé rebellion. But Yukiko herself is blinded by rage over her father’s death, and her ability to hear the thoughts of beasts is swelling beyond her power to control. Along with Buruu, Yukiko’s anchor is Kin, the rebel Guildsman who helped her escape from Yoritomo’s clutches. But Kin has his own secrets, and is haunted by visions of a future he’d rather die than see realized.

A GATHERING STORM
Kagé assassins lurk within the Shōgun’s palace, plotting to end the new dynasty before it begins. A waif from Kigen’s gutters begins a friendship that could undo the entire empire. A new enemy gathers its strength, readying to push the fracturing Shima imperium into a war it cannot hope to survive. And across raging oceans, amongst islands of black glass, Yukiko and Buruu will face foes no katana or talon can defeat.

The ghosts of a blood-stained past."

I'm trying as hard as I can to not read the summary of this book because I don't want to be spoiled about the events that went on in the first book (which I haven't even started reading yet.) This is the second book in The Lotus War series and I just HAD to get it because I got Stormdancer (you can see it in my first BookOutlet haul.) Anyway, I'll say it again, I'm really hyped for this series because it seems EXACTLY what I like in stories. The covers are just too beautiful. I-I'm done, bye.

And here is my stupid face holding my lovely books. Dang, I had to hold them with one hand because I was using my other hand to take the picture and as you know, iPad minis don't have self-timers, so yeah THE STRUGGLE.

Well, that is the end of my second book haul! I am very happy to have more books now and HAPPY READINGGGG
DO BOOKS NOT DRUGS
DON'T DO BOOKS LITERALLY

Day 4 & 5- Best Childhood Memory and Favorite Movies You Can Rewatch Over and Over

Oops! I missed posting Day 4 of my challenge yesterday! xD Sooo yeah, pretend like you didn't notice anything. That's why I'm going to be combining two days into one! To compensate my laziness of not posting...

My Best Childhood Memory?

My bed! and yes, that is a Wong Fu Productions awktopus
As far as I know, my childhood wasn't really...exciting. I don't want to say it sucked or whatnot because I know there are people out there that had a worse childhood than I did. But still. I was a pretty boring child. And I rarely went out and did productive things. It's kind of the same now but I'm trying to conjure up some good memories...

I guess I would have to say that my best memories as a kid would be whenever my parents bought me something. lol I'm so materialistic.
There was a time when I was maybe around 7(?) or so years old and I came home from school totally clueless to what my mom bought me. Usually my parents don't give me surprise presents; they just give me the money and tell me to go buy what I want.
I walked into my room and could not believe what I was seeing. Okay, you might think I'm exaggerating but that was the FIRST time that my mom had bought me a matching bed sheets and pillow cases. It's like that big, boxy pack of comforters, pillow cases, and sheets. I was so OVERJOYED at that time because my bed looked so pretty and so awesome and now I've had them for 7 years. Yup. Did my story touch you ahaha?

Favorite Movies You Never Get Sick of Watching

I don't go to the movie theaters that often (maybe not at all) and it probably has something to do with me having no friends but I have watched a few animated movies (because I'm a neeerrrrd.) Ahaha why am I so depressing and cynical today; I feel like I'm like that always but I hope I'm not. >.<;; Oh geez, sorry, I'm having real problems trying to form sentences today. This is why I wouldn't make a good writer. xD

Anyway, I digress. Some of my favorite animated movies that I could watch multiple times are displayed:

Coloful the Movie (Image taken from Credit Source)

Wolf Children: Ame and Yuki (Image taken from Credit Source)
Howl's Moving Castle (Image taken from Credit Source)

Summer Wars (Image taken from Credit Source)

If you haven't watched these movies yet, I HIGHLY recommend seeing them! They are phenomenal and absolutely stunning. They will definitely become a classic in the future (but I don't want to think about them becoming old because then I'll be really old and...ugh.)
Just a warning; Colorful and Wolf Children will make you cry. Maybe also the other two, I personally didn't but they are just as great!
Another side note: All Hayao Miyazaki movies are great (and all Studio Ghibli movies)
Okay! That's it! :)
Sorry if my posts are starting to sound weird...I really need to get used to this blogging thing...

Remember that today is a good day to have a good day! <3 6ever

Summer Anime 2014-My Anticipated List!

As you can tell from the title, I'm going to be talking about the animes that I am most looking forward to seeing this summer. Although, it doesn't mean that I will immediately like them when I see the first episode (who knows, we'll see...)

Note: All summer anime tends to release around the beginning of July (so like July 6-8, somewhere around there)

First off, if I don't include an anime that you are looking forward to, you can comment and tell me what it is and I'll check it out. ^^ I also apologize if I don't.

Secondly, I won't be including Kuroshitsuji 3: Book of Circus just because I feel like I don't know enough about it to talk about it (I haven't even finished the first season, I know >.<;;) so after I complete the first 2 seasons, I will probably talk about it (?)
I also won't be including Re: Hamatora or the second season of Hamatora because, again, I haven't finished the first season. I really need to catch up on anime!

Ao Haru Ride

Link to one of the PVs: Click!

Aren't the designs just beautiful? The art style stays pretty true to the manga as far as I can tell from these images. I love that more shoujo mangas are being animated! We need more shoujo anime! :)

Ao Haru Ride is originally a manga created by Sakisaka Io and this is the summary from baka-updates manga:
"Yoshioka Futaba has a few reasons why she wants to "reset" her image and life as a new high-school student. Because she's cute and had a demure personality she was ostracized by her female friends in junior high, and because of a series of misunderstandings and mishaps, she couldn't get her feeling across to the one boy she has always liked, Tanaka Kou.

Now in high school, she is determined to be as unladylike as possible so that her friends won't be jealous of her. While living her life this way contentedly, she meets Tanaka-kun again, but he now goes under the name of Mabuchi Kou. He tells her that he felt the same way as she did when they were younger, but that they cannot go back. Will Futaba be able to continue her love that never even started from three years ago?"

The production company confirmed to be animating this anime is Production I.G., who has also created (or co-created) Attack on Titan, Ghost in the Shell, Usagi Drop, etc. and one of the animes they are working on right now that I absolutely ADORE is Haikyuu!! so you can definitely tell they are a pretty superb group.
I have so much hype for this anime! It's going to be adorable!

Sailor Moon: Crystal
Link to freaking awesome PV:  Clickity!
I feel obligated to put this here even though I probably won't stick around to watch all of the episodes of this sailor moon remake. I really like the new art style, although some people differ, because as time goes on, art changes and the quality gets even better. What did old Sailor moon fans think was going to happen; they would keep the old art style. Ew, no. The girls look so beautiful and stunning here, but I'm not really a fan of the spider legs look. I will, however, definitely check this anime out and see what other changes they have decided to make to this series. Also want to see fandom hate lol. Just kidding, but still, this is probably the biggest news in the anime world besides SAO II...and Free! Eternal Summer. The production company in charge of this anime is Toei Animation, who has done another magical girl series Pretty Cure (and the five billion spin-offs of it), Dragon Ball Z most famously, Toriko, etc.

Summary from anichart.net:
"Tsukino Usagi is a clumsy crybaby, but otherwise very cheerful 8th grade student. One day she meets a cat named Luna with a crescent moon on her head, and is transformed into the sailor-suited guardian of love and justice, Sailor Moon! As a chosen guardian of justice, Usagi has a mission … to find her comrades; to find the Phantom Silver Crystal; and protect the Princess. However, Queen Beryl of the Dark Kingdom also seeks the terrible power of the Silver Crystal, and sends her agents into the city where Usagi lives; triggering the start of a fierce battle.

Will Sailor Moon be able to find the other Sailor Guardians, and if she does, together can they find the Phantom Silver Crystal and protect the Princess?!"

Free! Eternal Summer AKA Free Season 2
Okayy SUPER unbelievably excited for this anime! I enjoyed the first season (although I had trouble getting through the last few episodes) and these water babies, and I can't wait to see them again in their adorableness. And dem abs. Oh yes.

Something that didn't really come as a surprise for me was the announcement quite a while ago of a new character appearing, called Sousuke. He seems like another Rin to me, except without the friendly childhood background (because if it wasn't for that connection that Rin had to the Iwatobi trio before, he would have never joined them...probably.) But we all know he's going to be another big baby adored by us fans.

It's going to be animated by the studio that animated the first season: Kyoto Animation (one of the best animation groups)

The PV has been released and you should watch it: Click!

Summary: Swimming. Shirtless boys. Hot shirtless boys. Bromance. A shark boy that won't admit his feelings.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
From the manga
Official anime key visual
Link to PV (which I'm kind of sad about the designs...): Yo!
Based off a hilarious manga by Izumi Tsubaki, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is about a high school student Sakura Chiyo confesses her feelings to her classmate Nozaki. Due to a misunderstanding, Nozaki thinks Sakura is just a fan of his shōjo manga work. Sakura has to convey her true feelings while her relationship with Nozaki develops (summary credit to AnimeNewsNetwork).

I would also recommend Izumi-sensei's other manga (longer running) Oresama Teacher, as it is also very comedic and has great characters.
I'm just looking forward to see it animated and having a good laugh. I think it's supposed to be a gag manga but I'm not sure...it's very amusing.
Yes, there are a lot of male characters (in Oresama Teacher too), however, Izumi-sensei does not write typical reverse harems. You can't even call it a reverse harem because not all of the guys are interested in her. There could be, like, 5 guys but only 2 of them want to date the main character. That's the same in this case, although I'm not sure about the exact number of guys in this particular story.

Definitely check it out! This is my personal recommendation out of all of the new anime coming out this summer!

Glasslip: To be animated by P.A. Works (my all time FAVORITE production company)
THIS IS FREAKING GORGEOUS

THIS TOO

OH MY GOSH I CAN'T HANDLE THE ART-
Do you see the fearsome prowess of P.A. Works? Like, look at that. LOOK AT IT. I'm crying right now because their art is too beautiful. ;_; After Nagi no Asukara (an anime I highly recommend), I will loyally watch any anime produced by this company. Plus, it looks interesting and like something I would watch anyway.
If you're watching a P.A. Works anime, you can expect great art, great animation, great music, great characters, great storyline, and great voice acting. Pretty much FANTASTIC everything. You may think I am exaggerating, and I might be, but seriously, if you haven't watched an anime by them, YOU SHOULD. NOW. It's a life-changing experience.

Sword Art Online II: Gun Gale Online

I think pretty much everyone and their mother is excited for the second season. I'm not as hyped as some other people are but nonetheless, I am still looking forward to watching it. I thoroughly enjoyed the first and second season, though not the rapey parts of the second season (spoilers!)
If you don't know what SAO is and you watch anime...that isn't possible unless you live under some anime rock or something.
But I'll put a description of it here from ANN: "The players of a virtual reality MMORPG, Sword Art Online, are trapped and fighting for their very lives. After it is announced that the only way to leave the game is by beating it, Kirito—a very powerful swordsman—and his friends take on a quest to free all the minds trapped in Aincrad."
In the second half of the first season, they get trapped in another game (surprise, surprise) called Alfheim where all the characters are based on fairies.
Anyway, looking forward to some good ol' SAO! :D This time, with guns!

 Zankyou no Terror

Don't really know much about this anime except that it's an original anime by the production company MAPPA, and I just want to say OMG we need more original anime series because they turn out to the best and the most unique (i mean, look at Nagi no Asukara).
I'm getting a very post-apocalyptic feel from the poster, although from the PV, it looks like it's set in modern Tokyo. Apparently there are these 2 very mischievous boys that are acting like terrorists and bombing the place up. Okay, I actually looked at the summary and the two boys call themselves "Sphinx" and they're trying to start a game in Tokyo by bombing the city...WHAT THE F-. That's so messed up. But anyway, I have no idea what role the girl plays in this but I am very interested to find out.
Maybe this will be the gem of the season, who knows.

FINALLY I am done with this ridiculously long post. If you made it all the way to the end, COOKIE AND CONFETTI for you! :D If you couldn't tell, I was getting increasingly bored as the post went on so I'm am SO GLAD I am done with it now (I probably shouldn't have done this in one sitting but oh well.) Now my hand is cramping a bit so I'm going to take a rest.

Today's a good day to have a good day. <3 6ever
